The GEM Task Force, part of the CEIC Database team, is pleased to announce the addition of two new countries – State of Palestine (West Bank and Gaza) and Uzbekistan – to the Global Economic Monitor (GEM) indicators in World Trend Plus, under the Economic Monitor topic.
The data for the newly-created series are sourced from the countries’ official prime sources (local statistical offices and central banks), the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. The expansion includes economic indicators, closely monitored by our clients, for these two countries. Some of these series are compiled in various frequencies to facilitate cross-country comparison.
These two countries are low income, frontier economies, albeit with some variations in economic performance. This can be observed by the trends in some of the main economic indicators, as featured below.
The CEIC Database team is pleased to announce the inclusion of 1500 non-seasonally adjusted series across 34 indicators in the Global Economic Monitor (GEM).
Non-seasonally adjusted indicators allows users to obtain a more representative view of the economy, and analyse seasonal fluctuations by comparing seasonally-adjusted and unadjusted data over particular time periods, or simply to evaluate and compare like-for-like indicators in forecasting models through multiple angles.
