The US Economy in a Snapshot is a quarterly publicatiоn produced by the CEIC Macroeconomic Research Team. The report is designed to provide a comprehensive, albeit concise overview of the current economic and financial developments. The US Economy in a Snapshot report is produced using data from CEIC's Global Database.
The US economic recovery gained momentum at the start of this year. Bolstered by reopening the economy and substantial government support, real GDP increased at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.4% in Q1 2021, according to the advance estimate, rising from 4.3% in Q4 2020. On an unadjusted basis real GDP grew for the first time in four quarters, by 0.4% y/y.
