Philippines Economy in a Snapshot is a quarterly publicatiоn produced by the CEIC Macroeconomic Research Team. The report is designed to provide a comprehensive, albeit concise overview of the current economic and financial developments. Bolstered by a low base, GDP increased on a real-terms basis by 7.7% y/y in Q4 2021. GDP was also up by a seasonally adjusted 3.1% q/q in Q4 2021, matching the increase in Q3. Over the calendar year, 2021 real GDP growth averaged 5.6%, beating the government’s target range of 4.5% to 5.5% and bouncing back from a sharp decline of 9.6% in 2020.
