China Economy in a Snapshot is a quarterly publicatiŠ¾n produced by the CEIC Macroeconomic Research Team. The report is designed to provide a comprehensive, albeit concise overview of the current economic and financial developments. The China Economy in a Snapshot report is produced using data from CEIC's China Premium and World Trend Plus database.

 

Real GDP growth decelerated to 4.0% y/y in Q4 2021 from 4.9% y/y in Q3 2021. Throughout 2021, the Chinese economy expanded by 8.1% y/y, surpassing the 6% target set by the Chinese government. On a two-year average, China’s real GDP increased by 5.1%.
