After increasing by a seasonally adjusted 1.2% q/q in Q1 2021, real GDP contracted by 0.1% q/q in Q2 as another wave of COVID-19 disrupted economic activity. Bolstered by a low base due to the severe impact of the first wave of the pandemic last year, GDP increased by 12.4% y/y in Q2 2021 (on a non-seasonally adjusted, real terms basis).
